Next up is an upgrade from a rare Bowman series. I haven’t seen many of these cards around, and this is a guy I followed when I was in college, David Tanabe  - 

1. David was a smooth skating Japanese American defenseman from White Bear Lake, Minnesota. 

2. He was drafted 16th overall by the @canes in the 1999 @nhl Entry Draft. 

3. He was the first @usntdp player to be drafted by an NHL team, and, as a prospect, he was often compared to Scott Niedermayer. 

4. David played one year at the @uwsystem (recording 22 points in 35 @ncaaicehockey games in 1998-99) before turning pro and playing 8 seasons in the NHL with the Carolina Hurricanes, @nhlbruins, and @arizonacoyotes. Over 449 career games, he notched 114 points. 

5. His playing career was unfortunately derailed by a severe concussion in December 2007. After working for the USNTDP program, he attended @mitchellhamline and graduated with honors in 2018. He is now a practicing attorney back in Minnesota.
